[ QUOTE ]
And, although I do like the check behind on the turn idea, I wonder if you are increasing your chances of being bluffed off by a worse hand on the river by an observant opponent. [/ QUOTE ] Well, I guess the point of checking the turn is to call any reasonably-sized river bet -- that way you induce bluffs and bad value bets from worse hands. You have to call there since to this point you've underrepresented your hand, no? The only tricky situation then is if villain makes a big overbet on the river and you have to decide if he's bluffing. Then again, even I call a big river overbet and lose, I couldn't have lost any more money than I did on the hand. [ QUOTE ] Therefore, while I understand your reasoning for the river bet, I think it is -EV in the long run. [/ QUOTE ] I think you're right. I actually probably bet here because this is a must-bet in limit, which is the wrong way to think. |

[ QUOTE ]
A line I use a lot in the situation, is checking the turn. [/ QUOTE ] I like it. No real draws on this board. I'm way ahead or way behind. I think I'm going to add this play to my arsenal. |

Villain tabled 85o, and I lost. Loose call preflop, but I guess if I'm going to go to the felt with KK when he flops trips it's probably correct.
