Re: KK 40-80 against a talker
Mike I think you played the hand perfectly. His question on the turn... "Did you flop a set?" is not necessarily a disguised statement saying "I flopped a set"... I think in reality he is saying I flopped top pair top kicker and think my hand is boss and you are FOS. I think you played the hand perfectly and he called on the end and tabled A-Q for a loser!! Well played!

Re: KK 40-80 against a talker
I think he had AQ or KQ and I believe you played the hand perfectly, if you have reason to believe (if he hasn't done so already) that he would give you this much action with only TPTC. Which is a pretty damn good hand in itself.
I would have hesitated raising the river, and, I'm not sure I would unless I believed he would lead out with a bet on the river with nothing but TPTC or KQ. |

Re: KK 40-80 against a talker
I like capping against people who think I'm FOS because they're expecting me to just call with KK and cap with 74s.
the "so much for isolating" sounds a lot like AA, though when he says "did you flop a set?" and probably didn't flop a set, it would appear that his words are mostly honest, which probably means he wanted to isolate with AQ and is worried you flopped a set. but then again, I've noticed people tend to talk a lot when they're nervous, and nothing makes live idiots more nervous than OMG HAVING THEIR ACES CRACKED but I think when it comes down to it, math is a lot more reliable than figuring out some guy's speech, and there are 12 combos of AQ, 6 combos of AA, and another 6 combos KQ that are possible as well |
