I like a blended strategy - maybe limp/raise something like 60/40 or 70/30.

Would you rather see a Qxx flop with one raise caller, or with three other limpers? The reason why I raise is to get all those KJ-KQ-QJ-QT-KT-JT assheads out of there. Ax is gonna call. Why would you want to play a pair against ALL of the range of overcards from ace to ten (which you likely are doing with 3+ callers)? I don't hate a flop of one overcard with position as long as it's a non-ace and I only have one other opponent.
