Butch, thanks for the helpful analysis!
Would it be better (i.e. more profitable), worse, or the same to play in WTA SNG's or 50/30/20 SNG's? |

That's how it works in a zero sum game (or fixed sum if there's rake). Wherever your opponents will make the biggest mistakes is where you want to be. |

i played a bunch of these at the WSOP this year.
i do not avoid them like the plague...just expect a tad more variance. i play pretty much the same except that you have to note that ppl will not play 4-5 handed the same as that is not the bubble. 3 handed is kind of the bubble...so expect more calls from KT and stuff 4 way if you push. Also you can chop these... |

Assuming your edge in the same in both (i.e. vs. the same players) [/ QUOTE ] Your edge isn't the same against the same players in a different game (it essentially is two different games). For instance, you can be against a group of decent cash game players who are unfamiliar with tournament concepts. Here, you'd obviously want to play an SNG style game with multiple payouts as your opponents would tend to make more mistakes than a WTA. If you truly have the same edge at both games (ie. the same ROI), you would prefer the normal SNG format for its lower variance. |
