Bet the turn and check behind on the river. Fold to a turn raise.

There are way too many draws this guy can be on to not put some money on the turn.

i dont really like giving a free card here, but i dont like getting check/raised either, so this is probly ok

after checking behind on the turn, you have to call a river bet on a blank

your play sounds fancy. can you explain why this line could possibly be better than just betting the turn?

You should consider pot size and the opponent's propensity to bluff before fearing this.

I'm saying a free card is not something to not like here. The post I responded to is filled with so much doubt and uncertainty it's hard to know what you really meant.

ok, i think this is close between bet/folding and checking to induce a bluff, against an unknown im not 100% sure what is best, the pot is fairly small, if a c/r semibluff is possible then i like checking, if not then i like betting because a lot of free cards can hurt us

i probably would have bet against most opponents, but i dont think checking is horrible, especially against more aggressive, tricky types

It's not really that many though. So given the pot size if villain will bet inferior hands and especially bluff on the river I think a check behind is good.

The turn check is good (at least ok). All one has to realize in order to see this is that almost no hands that call the flop will fold the turn.

we're probably only making AT MOST an eighth of a bet when we're ahead but we're losing a whole bet when we're behind.

we're also in a position to make some bets 6 or 7 percent of the time on the river.

i'll let someone else work out the maths rigorously. i'm tired.
