Default Suggestion For Day 3

Play down to the money tonight, then don't have 'em back til 2pm. Give everyone a breather, plus I think they're 'ahead of schedule'.

Default Re: Suggestion For Day 3

Chip Reese just went bust. Opponent's 99 made a set on the flop, Chip's 88 turned the flush, board paired on the river to make the opponent the boat.

And apparently they closed shop for the night with only about 10-15 left before the money. Stoooopid.

There'll be 10-15 peeved people tomorrow who got dragged out of bed only to go bust and miss the money.

EDIT: To further expand the point, because it bothers me that they made this decision - you get the drag of going hand-for-hand out of the way tonight, ending it with some award for the Bubble Boy. You start tomorrow with the 560 that are in the money, have a quick celebratory cheer for all who made the money, shuffle up and deal with 560 happy cheery people, many of whom will be aiming to gamble gamble gamble some more and the players will be flying out the door busting out.

Instead, they've made it a night of uneasy sleep for a bunch of people, will kick things off tomorrow with the drag of going hand-for-hand, and will have the 10 or so pissed off people feeling they wasted another day for nothing.

Bah.

John Lane busts Chip Reese
Reese had [8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]][8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] and made a flush on the turn. His opponent pushed in with a set of nines and Reese called. The board paired on the river to send Reese home. Lane now has 300k. There are 570 players remaining.

[/ QUOTE ]

Damn, was rooting for Chip to go deep in this thing.

I was just going to ask WTF is going on with Chip, wasn't he sitting at 300k? If this is the way he's running, I can see why. Tough beat.

You ain't kidding. 569 left, christ, play for an extra 10-15 minutes at the new level(1k-2k/300a IIRC), get down to 62 full 9 handed tables, and then let everyone get an extra couple hours sleep.

Do a redraw, and its all smooth tomorrow at 2pm. Coming back in the middle of a hand for hand-money bubble is just dopey, never heard of such a thing.

Harrah's has done a pretty good job this year, considering the size and all, but this is even worse than not giving the spectators drinks. Not just beer, either, last couple weeks it's been water, too.

Same deal on the casino floor. I ask waitress for a beer. "Where you playing?" "Down the hall, I just blew $1500 in a tourney of which Harrah's got $90 now gimmee a Corona." "$4, sir."

And its FIVE bucks in the fvcking tourney hall. And Jesse May writes a column wondering why nobody's drinking, partying, and hanging out this year.

Default Interesting

From Pokerwire:

123 Paul L. Darden Sr. $ 144,000

I assume this is Paul Darden's dad. I'm sure he wasn't expecting to outlast his son.
