I am 28 years old (29 in 2 weeks) and live on a lake in Framingham, MA. I am not married, but have a fairly new girlfriend of about 6 months - she doesn't think I am a degenerate gambler, so things are looking good. I received both my bachelor's and master's degrees from UMass, and I am presently a mechanical design engineer for a fire and explosion protection company. My favorite movie is The Big Lebowski. I have been playing poker since high school, but have been playing seriously for only about two years now. I have 9 MTT wins online, and even though they were all bigger fields, my favorite accomplishment was winning one of the morning tournaments at Foxwoods with 192 entrants for $2345, because a live MTT win just feels so much more satisfying...not to mention that win kicked off a +$6500 week between live cash games and good online MTT finishes.

Here I am - matchstick poker and fantasy football are just a couple of my many talents:

*I'm 19 (August 11, 1986).
*I'm from Alpine, NJ, which is a small town right outside NY (like 20 min from the GWB), although my parents are moving to the upper-west side in a month or two.
*I'm single and enjoying the hell outta that.
*I'm a sophomore at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Absolutely love it here. I'm studying Physics/Math but currently going through a crisis and considering switching to CS (computer programming).
*I love High Fidelity, and I'm a rather creepy fan of Silence of the Lambs. Kill Bill also rocks.
*I've never made $1k in a day, and I don't really care about winning amounts smaller than that. I've been playing for about 2 years now, and playing deliberately (as Irieguy put it) for maybe 6 months. I basically use poker and 2+2 as something to keep my very fickle mind busy while I'm hanging out with my friends/doing hw. I've flirted with the idea of taking it more seriously, but I'm too much of a pussy and not good enough at poker yet anyway.

Not married...been dating a girl for 10 months, nothing serious, no kids (that I know of)

Occupation besides poker?

District Manager for an insurance and financial services company.

If studying, what and where?

Right now the only thing Im studying is my poker books.

Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing?

Ive won 1 $20+2 online tourney paying $2500 and final tabled quite a few, with my biggest payout being around $5000. Lets see, took 5th in the Porsche freeroll, and last night 16th out of 2465 in the PP $100k freeroll.

I don't post much but I'm a serious lurker...

- 20
- Live in Dundee, Scotland
- not just now
- I'm a student studying English literature
- been playing about 3 or 4 months, played SNGs to build my bankroll but have a serious MTT addiction despite not being very good (Mike Matusow blow ups anyone?). Had quite a few FTs with no wins. Biggest was 2nd in a 20+2 for $1050 (should of won though).
- I do film studies as part of my uni course so I like all different kinds of movies. David Lynch stuff, old film noir, City of God, Amorres Perros, Tarantino, Big Lebowski, lots of others I forgot.

This forum is an absolute goldmine and has taught me so much so quickly. The best bit for me is knowing I don't have to wait tables or answer phones anymore for some idiot boss just to make some money. Thanks guys.

Some old threads should die an awful death... and this isn't one of them.

I'm 31 years old - born 9/17/1974 in Oceanside, NY. I've lived in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida area for the past 29 years. I'm engaged to be married to a wonderful woman on June 10th, 2006. We've been together for nearly 7 years. You can see a pic of the both of us HERE

For the past 11 years I've worked in the Information Technology field as a high level network engineer and also as an instructor at various technical schools. I've recently become involved in real estate investment and it looks like I may be putting my IT years behind me.

I became interested in poker just this year, in April, when a friend invited me to his home poker game. After a few games at his house and watching some of the televised games like WSOP and WPT I was hooked. I'm a very analytical and logical thinker and poker just suited me perfectly. I have since bought nearly every recommended poker title and read through the entire library twice. I think that I'm in a great spot for someone who only picked up the game 7 months ago. I'm absolutely dedicated to becoming one of the best. Give me a little more time to refine my game and watch out world!

So far my greatest accomplishments aren't mind-blowing. My best result to date was actually in a freeroll - 13th out of 6000 players. I've also placed 26/2501 and had a few other instances where I've made it to the second or third to final table - but no big payouts yet. I've had a pretty good sprinkling of ITM finishes in my MTT play over the past 7 months but have yet to make it deep to where the real money is at. Regardless, I'm happy with my game and where I am at today. As sickening as the term may be, I consider myself a true student of the game. I'm always looking to learn more to become a better player. I know without a doubt that if I keep at it my time will come.

I'm 40, birthday is August 14.
I live in a Philadelphia suburb, about an hour from Atlantic City.
I'm married with a teenage daughter (ugh!!).
Besides poker, my main occupation is bum.
I study poker, and I study mostly at 2+2
I don't have a favorite movie, but I'd say there are a LOT of Mel Brooks movies at the top of my list.
My best accomplishment is my first final table in live poker, where I finished 2nd in the Friday night Taj Mahal $200+$25. I've won several online tournaments, mostly Party 30+3s, and cashed in a lot of Party Daily's and Stars 10PM rebuys. I've been playing for about 2 years now. The last year seriously.

My ultimate goal is to win a WSOP bracelet.

How old are you? Birthday? 24, born March 12th, 1981

Where do you live? Sarasota, FL

Are you married? Girlfriend/Boyfriend? Children? Single, had a girlfriend, but free at the moment

Occupation besides poker? I work at UPS

If studying, what and where? On a hiatus from college, when I go back I'll probably take some business courses

Favorite movie? Hard to name one, I'll say Goodfellas, Casino, and Rounders for starters

Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing? Either getting second in the EU vs. NA #4, or walking away with 300 bucks profit playing 1-2 limit first time in a casino for about 3 hours, probably the 2nd in the NA vs. EU though because there were so many great players in there.

I played stud and 5 card draw since I was 6, holdem since 2002, omaha seriously the past 2 months, and 2-7 lowball since april of this year.
