Default Latest stats

As the number of games played increases, my stats get more reliable.

After 33 games played:

ITM 15 times
Average profit once ITM: $6.46
Top five pay. I've placed 1 to 5 (3,4,4,2,2) respectively.

Based on these numbers, 95% confident that ITM rate is at least 30.5%
Based on an average profit of $6.46, that means my ROI is at least 20% at 95% confidence level. The buy-ins are $2.20 and the game is 20-seat sit and go.

At 99% confidence, my ROI is at least 0%.

So one doesn't need to have 100 samples to know a little something. However, all I know is that I'm not losing money.

Default Better late than never - I\'m done!

10+1 (Party) SnGs

ITM: 55/100 (55%)
1st: 29
2nd: 11
3rd: 15

Avg. finish: 3.73
Profit: $980
Per SnG: $9.80
ROI: 89.1%

Well, I hit a bit of a cold streak down the back stretch, but then reversed it with 6-in-a-row cash streak with 4 wins to close out my 100 SNG Challenge.

I know what we all say about sustainable ROIs and realistic win rates, but this was just a silly good run of tournies. I am knocking on wood that I don't pay for it with a massive blip of variance as I move up to the 20s.

Thanks to snowbank for providing the intial motivation for this little venture. I never realized how profitable these things could be. And it's nice to refresh yourself after many long sessions grinding it out on the limit tables.

So, Snowbank, are we ever gonna get one of those leader boards?

Default Re: Better late than never - I\'m done!

Just finished my 100 games. At Pacific Poker I played the 20-seat $2.20 sit and go's.

Game Type: $2.20
# 100
ITM 45
Average Payout if ITM $8.53
ITM % 45%
Average Profit/Game $1.64
ROI 75%

First 10
Second 9
Third 13
Fourth 6
Fifth 7

I've had some good luck and some bad. I'm currently weathering some bad cards at the moment as my ROI is 0% for the last 10 games. Recently I've placed third, fourth, and fifth a lot. I've finished 5th four times in the last 10 games!

I'm satisfied with the overall results. I'm thinking of moving up to the next level which is $8.80. I want to wait until my bankroll is $200 so that I can sustain a bad stretch of cards. I'm at $150 now.

Default I\'m finished playing $2.20 tables

I've moved up to $8.80 tables so I'm posting my final results for $2.20:

Game Type: $2.20
# 149
ITM 59
Average Payout if ITM $8.98
ITM % 40%
Average Profit/Game $1.36
ROI 62%

First 15
Second 14
Third 16
Fourth 6
Fifth 8

I had a 17 game losing streak in there towards the end but I started winning again just before moving up to $8.80 tables. I thought putting an end to that losing streak put me in the right frame of mind for $8.80, and I was right.

In fact, I think the poker players at the $8.80 tables are nearly as bad overall as the $2.20 players. Only in the bubble do they seem to play better.
