Harry Potter 2 sucked. Harry Potter 1 sucked. Harry Potter 3 was actually a good movie.

The first two were more enjoyable if you had already read the books, as you naturally kind of fill in the rest of the bits in your head. But as a standalone movies, they did not do much for cinema, except to give another generation of pedophiles Emma Watson to watch. These movies were directed by Chris Columbus, director of such cinematic masterpieces as, "Home Alone" and "Mrs. Doubtfire".

yeah, I'd read the books before seeing the movies, and I just found the first two movies incredibly dull and earnest and looooong.

Yes, especially since the Harry Potter books aren't all that cinematic anyway. They are usually a bunch of random things that these students at Hogwarts do, and somehow throughout all of this are little clues that you don't even notice, until it all comes together in the end in the solution of a mystery you didn't even know existed.
As a film, it ends up being pretty much like a meandering sequence of random events. |

Okay, I just played my 1000th hand at table 25383, which I think makes this about 3 times as long as any previous session I've had.
