Carpenter is anything but an automatic win in game 5. Pettite had one bad outing this series. He won't have another one. His knee is healing and he will be at Minute Maid. I like our chances.

Carpy is a lock. He's, what, 5-0 vs Clemens, Oswalt and Pettitte this year? Keep underestimating him. I'd rather have him than any other pitcher in baseball right now.

let Carpy pick up the automatic win in game 5

Wow. He wasn't "automatic" 5 times this season. You are amazing.

There is no such thing as a lock in the post season. He may be a favorite. He is 3-0 at MMP this year, but one of those three was opening day in April when he faced a terrible Astro lineup without Berkman and had Luke Scott in left. Another game he was lights out against Clemens which is one of the games you are referencing but Clemens had to leave that game early due to a hamstring pull, and Carpenter did give up 2 runs which in this series could be enough to win.

I know I am probably beating a dead horse but looking at the total season series against the Astros is a poor way to anaylize this series, IMO.

No, it wasn't me. Moran. If you can prove I said that, I'll quit the forums.

Well you didn't deny it after reading it.

And you probably intimated the same sentiment anyway.

Yeah, game 2 was a real tough game to lose for you guys. How did you not beat a back-to-back 20-game winner with a rested Lidge in the bullpen for 2 strong?

It wasn't the Astros who won this one, it was the Cards who lost it, right? You're a joke.

Do I understand you correctly? Oswalt will throw at somebody who swings 3-0 on him, but not when they swing 3-0 on a teammate?

If you can show me a quote of mine intimating the quote below, I'll quit this website. If you can't, you quit this website. Deal? Should be a slam dunk deal for you, right?
