Am I the only one who would muck the AJ after early limpers?

Was leading with the set of 5's that bad? If the BTF raiser had AA,or AK, he might have stayed around. And Denny got action from the gutshot goose.

Rick & Bart - great commentary. Especailly about how depth of stack effects play.
How big do you think Denny would have to have bet to get seat 3 off his draw? Not real well played by either guy I think. |

seat 7 - always with the tie [/ QUOTE ] Hey, I ran the NL section today and brought us up from about four games to thirteen. People don't give you a hassle if you wear a tie. Plus it was a nice tie ~ Rick |

Is it that big a surprise that a tight player (Denny) would be beating this game? The blinds are 3/5. How big are the raises these players are making before the flop? Eh? It really matters. [/ QUOTE ] Most people open raise for $20 or $15. ~ Rick |

haha....how did everyone end up? I had some friends come in town and we went out. When I left Denny was doing alright but nothing "interesting" as Bart would say.
Rick, I like(d) the tie. Call me old school but I'm not a big fan of shorts and a t-shirt at the casino poker table. |

haha....how did everyone end up? [/ QUOTE ] I may repeat myself in spots below but this thread is so big it's easier to retype then search through it to see who I said what to before. Anyway, I'm probably going to make you sorry you asked Saturday is the day I Host the NL section from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. I hoped to to start a fresh $100 NL game for "Live at Bike" when the Winnin O' the Green USC v UCLA tournament broke (originally we estimated it would end at 8:00 pm). This would give the $100 players their first chance to play "Live at Bike" for a couple of hours. If anything the tournament looked like it was running late, but I still needed to prepare for the mid web-cast changeover. I got up from the fourth $200 game I was running the must move from (out on the isle - we are seriously short on space these days) about 7:00 pm. I then transferred the must move list for the $200 game to the main board and was about to start making sure I had a strong board for a "Live at Bike" $100 NL game when I saw that they were making a ten way chop in the tournament! Plan B then went into effect, which in this case meant going back out to the isle and seeing if the players in the must move $200 wanted to play "Live at Bike". All but one did, and that player was happy to go up first on the board for the other $200 games. The only condition the remaining players wanted was that the game would no longer be "must move", which made sense anyway. So I made an "executive decision" and agreed. We were able to move all eight players in record time (one went to the $500 game) and since there were two seats open and no board Denny took one and I took the other. I didn't play any interesting hands and spewed off about $20 in blinds in an hour or so. Meantime I was up and down a lot making sure we built a board for "Live at Bike" $200 NL and that the section was in order (We had 13 or 14 NL games that night!). Executive Host Robert "chip burner" Turner then asked if I wanted to join Bart Hanson in the web-cast booth so I said sure. After all, why let exhaustion, hunger, thirst, and a complete lack of broadcast experience or talent stop me? I multi-table up to six tables or holdem or eight tables of Omaha online (in fact I'm playing now), but the Bike's web cast booth is more complicated. We have a big screen with essentially what you guys see at home, an array of cams for the hole cards that were out of my visual range, a computer set up to transfer the image information by hand to the screen you see, a laptop that was on that night dedicated to 2+2 feedback (note to Bike - register so you can customize the display), and a bunch of monitors and gadgets for taking care or the technical end. It is very hard to follow the action from inside the booth for a beginner, and both Bart and I have a hard time figuring out the bet sizes. For the most part I did a little "color commentary" as they say in "the biz" and tried not to put my foot in my mouth too deeply. Any feedback is appreciated Regards, Rick PS Denny ended up eating his cheeseburger, fries and DIET coke, getting a massage, and winning about $250 but that didn't prevent Bart and I from slamming some of his play |
