Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/24)
You guys say Doyle was boring, you are so wrong.
He is laid back and old , what do you want a guy on Coke or something? Plus Barry was talking with a lot of energy just before him. So your comments are incorrect. |

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/24)
Nobody is saying Doyle is boring. We are saying the entire interview was boring because Doyle has answered these questions a million times already and we kinda wanted to hear some insights from him about this game. He's certainly not going to be as energetic as Barry was but its not like he's a mute.

Obviously they had the cards wrong, because they are splitting the pot.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/24)
With Legends starting Saturday, wonder what other big names will pop up, and then be disappointed when the same questions get asked, lack of commentary by guests, etc. Maybe Doyle didn't want to be on any longer, but he got shown the board way too soon.

I wish he would, it would certainly help revive my interest in the game.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/24)
That's not fair. Apparently the announcers can hear the players at the table.
The striking thing about Barry's commentary was the extent to which he saw every situation as new and unique. There was little recitation of pat principles. He talked a little about general principles, but his main thrust was the particulars of the hand in question, and the players - both their tendencies and their manner. He even pointed out how easy it is to read Mr. Kaplan. That actually surprised me. I imagine he regrets that. |
