Actually, a liberal is more apt to view drug abuse as a disease (like depression, or bipolar disorder, or compulsive gambling) than as "someone elses fault".

[/ QUOTE ]

Compulsive gambling is my favorite disease... I hope they never find a cure!

I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, but Brett Favre, was also addicted to painkillers at one point (Vikadin, I believe). Does that make Brett Favre a bad person?

a disease is someone elses fault (or at least not theirs). liberals and their inability to take responsibility for their actions sickens me. grow up, mature, and take responsibility for what you do.

Further, any moron can tell the difference between a prescription drug addict and a crackhead.

[/ QUOTE ]

Youve obviously never encountered a really bad prescription drug addict. People regularly killed over Oxycontin and prespcription drugs, by addicts seeking a fix, in burglaries, etc.

No it doesnt make him a bad person because to the best of my knowledge Brett Favre never got on the radio and lambasted drug addicts as worthless human beings who should be sent to prison.

The same cant be said for your boy Rush, who proved himself a grade-A hypocrite.

Rush maintains that he didn't break any laws, and he hasn't been charged with any crimes. He still believes people who break the law by abusing drugs should be sent to prison. How is he a hypocrite? If he had changed his tune about the war on drugs because all this came out, THEN he'd be a hypocrite.

First, this is the reason that drugs--ALL DRUGS--should be 100% legal. Let the prices fall, put the street pushers out of business, and lower the overall level of violent crimes. In addition, seeking help for an addiction should not come bundled with the fear of incarceration.

Beyond that, there is STILL a major difference between a prescription drug addict and a crackhead. It's called intent.

I agree 100%...At least we can agree on something right!

Chewing up an oxycontin so that you feel rushing waves of Euphoria and pleasure is intent as well (as opposed to swallowing it, which would not cause rushing waves of euphoria and pleasure).

Yes, and you can really make schools more rigorous by cutting their funding. Give me a break

[/ QUOTE ]

Do you think there is a positive or negative correlation between spending and education quality?
