Re: MicroLimit Personal Progress...Std Error etc.
The biggest problem I've found with using poker stats is that by the time you have a big enough sample, your oldest entries are invalid (since you probably don't play like that anymore).

you can get your bb/100 at 0.5/1 to +2-3bb/100 after 50,000 hands, then I think you can safely move up to 1/2 with $600. [/ QUOTE ] You don't need to play this many hands at .5/1. You should have way more than $600 by this time. |

Maybe I should wait until 50k hands. [/ QUOTE ] If you have a BB/100 of over 3 BBs with 25k hands at .5/1 move up, you are probably good enough and if not will find out when you move up. |

Re: My status
[ QUOTE ]
How manys hands you at for 2/4 and 3/6? I wonder if your 8 tabling is affecting your BB/100 rate (which seems low for someone who feels pretty confident). Also your VP$IP is low. Your PFR is low for both levels. That's also why I wonder by sample size. You talk like you have a decent sized one though. So I consider both these stats to be too low. [/ QUOTE ] Well, I have only been accurately tracking my play since mid-August when I bought a few monitors and 8-tabling. I did win enough from April-August to build a 3/6 bankroll and cash out some as well. I don't have a big issue with a PFR of 6.4% at 2/4. I think I could be raising a few more hands in LP and the button but would welcome criticism if I am not raising enough at this limit. However, my VP$IP of 12.5% is a major problem. I'm not losing money but I think I will not be able to improve on my win rate without playing more hands. I need some pre-flop advice on what additional hands to play. Maybe someone would be willing to review (or I can post as text files) my pre-flop actions. |

Re: MicroLimit Personal Progress...Std Error etc.
Most players, at least at this point in our careers, can be pretty sure that they're improving over any given time span, and fairly certain that they're not getting worse. So while you can't accurately extrapolate from a sample, you can at least determine 'winning' or 'non-winning' at a given game type/limit with a large enough sample.

Re: MicroLimit Personal Progress...All Posters Post
This may have to be my last update for this thread as I've pretty much graduated from micro limit stakes. Hopefully I can serve as inspiration.
Bottom line $0.50/$1.00 - 12,425 hands - +6.35 BB/100 $2.00/$4.00 - 14,052 hands - +3.13 BB/100 $3.00/$6.00 - 1,848 hands - +8.59 BB/100 $0.50/$1.00 VP$IP: 18.99% VP$IP(SB): 38.72% Att.ToSteal: 27.86% WentToSD: 30.08% Won$atSD: 58.02% PFR: 7.85% Aggression Flop: 2.19 Turn: 2.23 River: 2.22 $2.00/$4.00 VP$IP: 17.31% VP$IP(SB): 35.88% Att.ToSteal: 26.74% WentToSD: 29.54% Won$AtSD: 56.80% PFR: 7.28% Aggression Flop: 2.28 Turn: 2.30 River: 1.95 $3.00/$6.00 VP$IP: 15.64% VP$IP(SB): 18.84% Att.ToSteal: 15.79% WentToSD: 31.12% Won$AtSD: 65.81% PFR: 7.79% Aggression Flop: 3.86 Turn: 2.44 River: 1.66 ---------------------------------------------------------- Clearly my win rate at 3/6 cannot hold up, but my goal was to play 4 tables @ 3/6 and turn at least a 2 BB/100 profit by the end of the year, and hopefully that goal will be officially attained in about 8200 hands or so. It looks like there are two things I need to improve on, and opinions on this are welcome: 1. Blind stealing. This number is way too low. What kinds of hands will you attempt a blind steal with? 2. River aggression. I notice a lot more people at 3/6 like to wait until the turn to raise, and they will often do this on draws (many of which they should be pumping on the flop). As such, I'm often finding myself leading the flop and turn with TPGK or an overpair but forced to the defensive on the river. Typical? I'd like to lastly again thank the people of this forum for their good advice and their patience with me over the last few months. |

Re: MicroLimit Personal Progress...All Posters Post
Wow, I haven't seen this thread in awhile.
Well I'm still playing at Pacific .10/.20 tables but only on Fishday, err... I mean Friday. I want to hit $100 before I cashout of the site and leave for awhile. They have too many problems there, but ya gotta have goals. I spend the rest of the week bonus whoring. I have just recently cleared a bonus playing .25/.50 tables. I not only cleared the full bonus, I also made an additional $50 from wins. My next bonus whore should put me at the .50/1 tables. My goal is to keep clearing bonuses and building my bankroll. I will eventually buy Poker Tracker so that I can actually share my set of stats. If I play my cards right, I should be able to afford the program after one more bonus. |

Re: MicroLimit Personal Progress...All Posters Post
Had a good run at .5/1 lately and I'm up to +2.10 BB/100 at just under 2000 hands. I still need a -whole- lot more work but I'm also content to move up to 1/2 as soon as my bankroll supports it.
