At the grand casino we use a rock as a forced straddle.
who ever wins a pot with the rock in it is forced to straddle under the gun.

Default Stop bets

How frequently are stop bets used? I mean, it doesn't seem like they would work all that teriffically. The other player might figure if you made a hand, you would check-raise... it's more of a weak lead/post oak semibluff.

It just seems too readable... if you really made two pair, you would either check-raise or bet out bigger. Is it only to be used against weaker players?

I have heard of the concept, but how effective has it been for everyone, really?

err well raise or fold.... sorry misworded it but he reraised it to $600 so know if you raise what are you going to rasie too? because if you just call most players will bet hard on the turn and he wasn't confident in his QQ on the flop

Oooh that's right... it's a wierd thing, you never really "win" the rock, since you're always forced to put it back in. It always seems to me like that kind of thing kills the action... ya know, bigger bets with less reward. Hmm.

There was a great 2+2 article about The Rock by The Dude, I think (that, or he had a conversation going about it)...

It's VERY good for action and most players that have played with one (yours truly included) would prefer it to exist.

Oh right. Hassan check-raised two players, if he doesn't have the 7, then he's got some stones.

You almost have to fold...

But raise not all in makes way more sense.
