Ray,
Yeah, I thought the kid was a jerk - he was sure acting like one so he demonstrated to me that he was one. Should I write glowing reviews about people who were jerks? I see jerks at the table every single day, and I'm sure you have seen your fair share as well.

That doesn't mean I treat a jerk any different than anyone else at the table, and I didn't in this case either - even when he was a flaming assshole to me personally (throwing cards, cursing at me - ya know, it was my fault his gutshot didn't come in...).

No offense Ray, but anyone who treats me like crap is a jerk in my book. Unless he had ESP he had no idea what I was thinking. I just deal the cards and run the game. The other dealers could be a different story I guess. I only saw them deal to him on the final table, but nothing unusual happened there.

The spectators of the final table were giving this guy a bit of crap for his conduct...maybe that ticked him off. Oh well.

How's life up north?

stupid questions i want seriously answered by poker dealers:

how do dealers do that really quick riffle?
do they sometimes see the cards as they do the riffle?
when you strip, how many batches of cards do you take down?

a jerk is still a jerk of course. my point was that why tip people that hate you or are routing agianst you. i can see that point. it may not be right acoording to how each person thinks but its a legit point of view.
i am all for tipping for a job well done. and i do it in moderation.

Do you tip the teller at the bank who cashes your cheque? I have never tipped the cashier at the cage. I find playing at casino gets way to tip heavy. You could win 50 to a 100 bucks grinding at a low limit game and give away half in tips if you were tipping everyone down to the cleaner........

Default Didn\'t miss your point at all.....

I simply put that I am confident that no matter how much "more to it" there is (bartendning and table service are harder than they look too).......the market will pay what the market will pay.....namely they'll pay you what they need to, and not much more. Same as the rest of the world.

NOW, THAT BEING SAID.....I tip dealers when I play craps all the time....and though not as frequent, I do at times when I play BJ. The few experience I have with poker at a B&M, I tipped when I won a pot.....but I didn't think the tip should be based on the pot at all.....you didn't deal any different.....we just bet different.

If a dealer/cocktail server whatever gives me good service..almost makes me forget that they are doing a job (in other words....seemingly enjoying serving me).....I tip much better. It's what I expected when I bartended.....I had fun.....tried to get the customers to have fun.....they did.....I made good tips.
