You are about the 5th person in this string who said "Fold."

My poker advice to you?

Read the poker advice string before giving your poker advice. First, you might learn something. Second, you won't look bad for giving the same advice 4 others gave.

By the way, all 5 of you who said "Fold" are cordially invited to my game.

Well, I've been good enough this past year, to make enough money to support me. I'd rather be the lucky one who recently won $6.000.000 in our local lottery.

Even more, I would rather have been lucky in love.

Ok, I admit I let it drift off.

Though it is theoretically possible to be so lcuky in poker, that it would outweigh "goodness", it has probably never happened, and probably never will.

Ok, I want everyone to put down what the best poker advice they have ever received. You can put the situation, or just a sentence, I think this would be a good learning thread also

It's better to be lucky than good.
And it's not even close.

There's a word for people who like to say "I'd rather be lucky than good" at the poker table . . .

Don't go on tilt.

People don't mind losing to friendly funny players. They do to jerks.

You make big laydowns preflop, you make loose calls on the river.

Bad players do the exact opposite.

No set, no bet.

Also, I don't know if this is good advise, but I started winning more when I started thinking in terms of bets instead of dollars spent. My aggression went up and started taking down a lot more pots without a showdown.
