I've tried to post my thoughts at least 4 times today, but couldn't get anything to sound right. Raptor did it for me perfectly. Honestly dude, if you aren't into it, you won't do well. You will get burnt out eventually and realize that school is for you again. Take some time off. You are young, enjoy your youth.

I failed out last quarter at UCSB. I never went to classes, never bought books, never studied, etc. It was a great way to waste $2000. Why go back right now when I hate it so much?

As for now, I won't be moving away to live in some dark hole in the middle of nowhere, so I'm confused as to why everyone says that he needs to get back into college for some sort of social aspect, because its all about the location, not what stupid class you take at 8AM MWF

Btw Sammy, stop being so [censored] insulting because you're getting nowhere being such a tremendous jerk.

DO YOU REALLY THINK HE WANTS TO HEAR YOUR STUPID ADVICE? STFU

What UMTerp said. To a 19yo in Dallas $100k is upper class. To a 15yo in Chile, it is rich. To a 37yo with kids in SoCal it is definitely middle class.

I understand that this was a post asking for advice but I am getting sick and tired of reading posts about how one path is the right one and anything else is wrong. The majority of people seem to agree that the OP should stay in school for the next two years in order to have a degree to fall back on and I tend to agree with this. However, I also understand that it depends greatly on the person. There is nothing wrong with giving advice but there is something wrong with ripping Fiery just because you might make a different decision is you were in his shoes. Just because the prospect of spending a lot of time sitting in front of the monitor is not for you remember that we are talking about a bright young person who is more than capable of deciding what is right for him. This is his decison and no matter how much some people want to make it for him they must stand back.

Yeah, my parents make a combined 200k a year... but they live in L.A. and have to send 2, soon to be 4 kids to college, as well as take care of their own parents back home , so I wouldnt classify our family as anything above middle class.

As I posted below, I dropped out of college for a while to try and be a guitar maker. I gave up when my cat broke the guitar I was making. Hmm...I wish I could quit my job and make guitars.

How would you know you hate it? You didn't even do any of the things that going to college entails.

Hey Raptor,

Will you be able to work on one piece of school work at a time, or will you like 4-table term papers?
