Re: World Class Player Reveals Secrets

This brings up an interesting point. Is it possible that one of the reasons card distribution "seems" different live from online is that cards live are actually not random enough. We have plenty of ways of tracking the randomness of cards online, through the use of programs like pokertracker, etc, but no real way to track hundreds of thousands of live hands." Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?" |

Re: World Class Player Reveals Secrets
Rudbaeck:
[ QUOTE ] Being more random than a physical deck is trivial. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I know this. I didn't phrase my comment very well. FlFishOn: [ QUOTE ] You don't know dick about their RNG. [/ QUOTE ] Well, I was assuming it was the same type of system most of the other major sites use. But I now see that it is not. Thanks for the information, Rudbaeck. Still, the basic intention of FlFishOn's post was to point out that they could lie to us, and that I don't know anything for sure. My post is only valid if the major sites (apparently excluding party) are giving us the truth. If they aren't, that's a completely different situation. As for me leaving... I'm happy to disappoint you. |

Re: World Class Player Reveals Secrets
Damn, this thread got big.
Someone care to recap for me? Too much to read. What I know: Fletcher (World Class Player (WCP) which he must've typed 10,000 times over the course of this thread) is going to reveal some secrets. The big secret is he's losing at online poker because "you know why" and everyone has suggested he's referring to it being rigged. He doesn't believe people are really beating the game either. 2) Ray Zee asked him to reveal his true identity privately so Ray could validate his statements. He declined. 3) Anything else worth nothing? |

Re: World Class Player Reveals Secrets
It's possible, but most likely the reason we feel online card distribution differs from live is that we are hardwired to pick up patterns. It's a basic tool for survival. When no real patterns exist we pick up lots of junk from random sources. Online you see alot more deals per hour than in a casino.
I 8-table alot of the time, so I see ~500 hands per hour. Something bizarre will happen alot more often online than in a casino, where I see 35 hands per hour. But there won't be more bizarre things per 100 hands! I just see 15 times as many hands, and my bored mind picks up the weird stuff that just happens randomly. A while back someone here analyzed 150k hands from Party to see if there were indeed action flops. He didn't find anything out of the ordinary. |

Re: WCP Reveals Secrets - Trojan Horse from link in this thread?
[ QUOTE ]
Are you absolutely sure that you got the trojan from that link? I just searched my computer and its clean (so far as I can tell). No "you1" file or anything like that. Furthermore, I was under the impression that albinoblacksheep was relatively reputable. I've seen other people post links to other parts of that website before on these boards (for example, the flash cartoon about posting on internet message boards). This is why I assumed it was fine. [/ QUOTE ] Avast noted a trojan as soon as the page came up and blocked the DL. I've since done searches with Avast and AdAware, and one for any file containing 'you1', and all came up empty. Yes, AlbinoBlackSheep is normally safe. Dunno how this got there, or if it's endemic, or what. |
