[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] No way Black had AK against Kanter's KK. He just called Kanter's raise pre-flop, then checked on the K-high turn?? Black is way too aggressive to play AK that way. My guess would be Ah5h (I think the flop was K53). Would be a lot more consistent with the board and Black's style. [/ QUOTE ] i agree with this guuy [/ QUOTE ] No way he had AK. He looked like he wanted to fold to the river bet. Would folding be even a thought on your mind when someone bets 2 mil into a 12 mil pot on a K533x board and you have AK? [/ QUOTE ] Valid point. What do you think he had? The ppl saying suited Ax of hearts need to understand the flop was rainbow. Yes, the turn puts two hearts on the board but Black had position and it was checked to him so he had no bet to deal with...in other words, we don't glean much information about Black's hand by the turn action. |

Re: \"Official\" ESPN Coverage of WSOP Main Event: Final Table
wow hachem has an angel looking over him. Not talking about the Q7 vs 99 but on the 87 hand barch just calls with AQ and if kanter just calls with A7 he breaks hachem on the 77T flop.

Re: \"Official\" ESPN Coverage of WSOP Main Event: Final Table
Hand 211 - Steve Dannenmann has the button in seat 8, Kanter moves all in for $3,670,000, and Tex Barch calls when the action gets back around to him. Kanter shows Ad-9s, while Barch has pocket jacks (Js-Jh).
The flop comes Kh-9h-7h, and Barch has a solid lead with his pair of jacks and a flush draw. Kanter makes a pair of nines, so he can catch a nine or an ace (but not a heart) to make a better hand. The turn card is the 8s, and Kanter is down to four outs with the last card to come. The river card is the Jc, and Tex Barch makes a set on the river to eliminate Aaron Kanter in fourth place, earning $2,000,000. 1. Joseph Hachem - $23,200,000 (seat 1) 2. Tex Barch - $16,660,000 (seat 3) 3. Steve Dannenmann - $16,420,000 (seat 8) |

[ QUOTE ] i'm not sure if this point has been made before, but does Joe Hachem give anybody else an Australian Josh Arieh vibe? PASS THE SUGAH. [/ QUOTE ] Only in appearance. Not in attitude. [/ QUOTE ] yeah, that's what I meant, just the appearance/swagger he has. he seems a lot more laid back/amicable than Arieh. |

I'm not sure of the stacks, but I think that it was a $15M pot and he bet $2M at the river....Am I the only one who thinks that since $2M is so insignificant here and knowing his opponents style that perhaps checking the river and hoping for a huge bluff might've been a decent alternative? As I said, I'm not sure of the stack sizes though, and obviously thats important. |

Re: \"Official\" ESPN Coverage of WSOP Main Event: Final Table
Hand 213 - Tex Barch has the button in seat 3, Barch raises to $600,000, Dannenmann reraises to $1,600,000, and Barch studies the situation. Barch separates a few of his stacks from the rest, and pushes them out into the pot, raising to $4,400,000.
Dannenmann stalls for a while, looking at the table, his opponent, and then smiling and looking out into the crowd. He finally looks back at Barch, and in a dramatic gesture with a wave of his hands, clearly announces, "All in!" Now Barch shuffles his chips, and it's telling that he didn't call right away. If he had a major hand (A-K, Q-Q, K-K, A-A), he'd have called quickly. At this point, he's not likely to call. Sure enough, Barch folds his cards. Dannenmann shows Ac-Ks as he collects the pot. 1. Steve Dannenmann - $27,500,000 (seat 8) 2. Joseph Hachem - $16,700,000 (seat 1) 3. Tex Barch - $12,000,000 (seat 3) |

[/ QUOTE ] Works both ways though. On the K7 v K5 hand, Hachem bet J9 in position on the KT7 flop. The turn was a Q, which would have given him a straight had he checked. |
