First, why would anybody think that USC was actually going to spike the ball? The clock was stopped because of the fumble out of bounds, and it wasn't going to start again until the ball was snapped.

Give credit to Reggie Bush for that final TD. Leinart was stopped cold, then Bush pushed him over the goal line. Heads up play by Bush, who is the Heisman frontrunner right now, IMO.

What a game.

Give credit to the refs for spotting the ball at the 1 when it went out at the 3. What a load of [censored] garbage.

[/ QUOTE ]

How about Quinn not airball on 3rd down with a game-clinching TD on the line late in the 4th, or ND hold on 4th and forever on that drive?

Leinhart won the heisman on the last drive.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just curious, is it his fumble that stopped the clock that gives him the Heisman?

If it didn't come out, I think USC would have spiked it.

1. Yes Quinn's pass was terrible, but I don't think the 1st down was automatic even if it is complete. Schwapp had 5-6 yards to go and he is not too fast.
2. 4th and 9 is hardly "4th and forever" for USC, and it took an absolutely perfect pass from Leinart to convert.
3. I never suggested that the refs were solely to blame. It was a terrible call and anybody with two eyes could see that. Why not point it out?

Hypothesis: Notre Dame will not lose another game this year.

No way they have enough time to spike it.
