Wow, that call at second base at the end of the 7th was atrocious. Talk about not even close... wow. He was safe by a mile. Wow. [/ QUOTE ] He was gone by about 2 inches. You saw the dirt , which was covering crede's hands. The dirt made it look like his hand was closer than it really was. Good call by umpire, and I'm pulling for Sox so don't give me any bias nonsense. |

If I'm Soscia I would've protested. Not for the fact that the third strike wasn't dropped (missed judgement calls happen), but because the umpire signaled out so the Angels come off the field. [/ QUOTE ] I think if Soscia realized the umpire called him out, he would have undoubtedly filed a protest before the next AB. GoT |

That ball clearly hit the dirt before he caught it.
I agree, you could just see the ball jump sharply up as it went into the glove, so it must have hit the dirt. Only after about 4 different replays did I notice that. |

You know Jack Buck was a real class act, but his son is turning into a world class d00shbag. "CONTROVERSY IN CHICAGO! ABSOLUTE DISGUST BY THE ANGELS. THE UMPIRE LETS THE INNING CONTINUE>....THIS WILL BE QUESIONED AND QUESTIONED AND QUESTIONED>>' F*** you Joe Buck. That ball clearly hit the dirt before he caught it. They can't give props to my boy Buehrle for throwing a complete game victory. [/ QUOTE ] except that joe buck is right regardless of whether or not the ball hit the dirt, the home plate ump signaled AJ out after the angels catcher was trotting off the field, which to me means he's out the ump got confused, overwhelmed, and then didnt have the cajones to straighten it out |

Re: ****THE Official ALCS CHISOX vs. LAA Thread****
I totally unbiased as i don't care which team wins. That was a travesty.
Question I have is this. Shouldn't there be some signal by the ump so the catcher knows the ump has blown the call, then at least he can throw to first. Totally unfair the way that transpired. |

Quite the bittersweet victory, I must say.
