Everyone is using this OOT regular excsue about why they wouldn't expect this out of Alobar. If you really know who the OOT regulars are, you should know at least 3 things.

1) peachy is a girl
2) peachy doesn't post pictures
3) Alobar and peachy are good friends

Now, by knowing these 3 things (which you should, and if you don't, well I'm sorry, but don't go posting about OOT regulars then because basing things on post count will not always be pretty, just try taking poker advice from Sponger [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] ) you should realize that there is no chance in hell that Alobar would really post a link to peachy's blog. That would be a really dick move. Not that this wasn't, but this was to random internet people, not to someone he considers a friend.

Fine, if you were one of the first few people to open the thread, maybe you were on the wrong end of the deal. Sorry, that sucks. But, there were plenty of OMGWTF replies by 3:35, so those people should've been able to deduce what was going on.

Did Alobar [censored] some people over? Yes.

Is it funny if you weren't one of those people? Yes.

Should pretty much everyone have seen this coming? Yes.

I know who the OOT regulars are as well as anyone does.

1. Probably, though this being a male-dominated board about a male-dominated activity, you never know.
2. Hard to prove a negative. I might have a chance of telling you if she did, but not if she did not. If Peachy was my life or something.
3. There's no particular reason anyone should know that Alobar and Peachy are friends. I've a jillion Peachy posts by now and didn't even know that she knew Alobar, much less the state of their putative friendship.

I agree that the original post didn't make much sense. A friend posting a link to another friend's blog as if it were a means to hurt that friend -- pretty clearly says there's no friendship.

Nobody should really know any of these things you mentioned, though we might believe #1 is true.

As to taking this too seriously, someone might have gotten in significant trouble at work or even fired. If they didn't, it was through no fault of the person posting the link like a little bit*h.

Finally, I don't know Alobar. But I do wonder if he got his account hijacked, because it's hard to believe anyone could be this stupid, and it kind of smells like a set-up.

That's the first thing I did. However, the new windows were popping up much quicker than I could stop them through Task Manager. Plus as I was fiddling with Task Manager, the windows were jumping around in the background. I had to turn off my monitor and reboot before someone walking by my desk saw what I was looking at.

I don't care how much he contributes to the other forums. This was a totally dick move. If he was allowed to get away with this, all sorts of retards would be trying to pull the same [censored] in here, and then it wouldn't be safe to open *any* links anymore.
