Oh, I know it's pretty gay to admit liking Bridges of Madison County...yet I can't help feeling this way. The movie is so incredibly well made, everything from the writing to the music (some of which Clint himself wrote and played), and the performances of both Clint and Streep are flawless.

Maybe I'm grouchy...but almost every movie I'm coming up with feels like it shouldn't deserve consideration for top 5.

but right now narrowing it down to 5 feels like it would actually imply too much greatness when it's really just an exercise in weeding-out the 'not quite as mediocre'

Shawshank (barely makes it....effect has been diluted due to over-exposure)

(R-Dogs gets a close 6th)



Scorcese bores me and the only list of mine that Good Fellas would make would be 'over-rated films'.

I think someone mentioned Raising Arizona which I thought was circa 1988 or 1989.
