Bart,

Two different scenarios you are talking about last hand.

If you have Top Pair and you know 100% that the guy before you will bluff the river if you check behind on the turn (and he can only hit 2 cards (14% chance of hitting) to win the hand), it is +EV.

However, on a hand that just occured (Qs8s vs QTo and vs yosh) on a flop of Q7s5s

And then the turn comes Js

You should NEVER check the turn in position (I don't even think you should check out of position but that's another situation). The reason for this is because the Ace of spades is going to call you ALWAYS (of course, depending on size of bet) and hands like QJ/JJ/QQ/68/AQ/9T/AsK/KT/random 2 pair are going to call you a lot of the time.

Therefore it's -EV to check through in this situation. Like what if the board pairs on the river? Do you know if your hand is still good? What about a river spade? These are reasons why you should bet the turn, not only is it a value bet, it's also an information bet at the same time.

[ QUOTE ]
I thought Barry had mentioned he did this in Friday's game, taking ~15k from Jesus after the show ended. Did the game go up to 25/50 after the show?

I was just having fun with the whole ace rag thing with Barry.
Remember his notes in the window.

Isn't it in Athens, Georgia?
"London" Gallagher was the winner of the final seat.

Guess that Pujols home run didn't affect Houston after all: Houston 5, St. Louis 1.

Everyone is just waiting to snipe him. But unless they hit perfect, they will all fold to him. Wonder how high he can run it up?

I mentioned to Shirley, Dave and Bart, that I will have to be weened off of Ax. In late position, in an unraised pot, or with limpers, the hand increases in value. A raise or reraise is sometimes good, depending on who is yet to call. Player dependent
