There is a difference between voicing controversial opinions and being innapropriate. I personally would prefer that some of the discussions, particularly on the Politics forum, not happen on 2+2. They can get very heated and partisan, and a lot of the discussion I find to be ignorant. Furthermore, I think some of those threads may turn off some potential posters. But, we have a policy of being generally permissive, and that is important to us.

But we have to have a modding system in place that will immediately remove stuff like kiddie porn (just a clear-cut example), and we need it sooner, rather than later. It may be inconsistent for a while and seem unfair... obviously that sucks. No one wants that. But we need it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I understand the difference. My point is that the controversial posts from Mr. Sklansky are far more likely to reflect poorly on Two Plus Two than a post from a respected member of the community telling a troll to "shut the [...] up" or a bunch of twenty-somethings discussing sexual topics in a forum that is essentially intended to be a playground.

One would think that the head of the company talking about a controversial topic would look far worse than myself talking about farting on women or some absurd topic.

I would just like to make a formal apology to Otisthemarsupial and the rest of 2+2. I was wrong to call Otis out on his reporting threads to the mods. I will never do it again to Otis or any other 2+2'er.

[/ QUOTE ]wtf for?????

[/ QUOTE ]

It's important to retain the privacy of the reporting system. I was out of line and I encourage all other moderators to make sure they retain the privacy of the reporting system.

No need to get upset Salty. It was the right decision to make. Living by principle is the only way to be IMO. I am never ashamed of making a decision on principle.

As for my views on Otis, I could have made clearer, more profound, and much more well structured arguments. However, I believe my points have been made. I am also taking a cease fire with Otis and that is my decision and not anyone else's.

I appreciate your support.

Now.... I have to work on my thesis... so screwed. OOT is crack I tell you crack!!!!
