Default Andy Black Ain\'t A \"No-Name\"...

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/play...?a=r&n=575 Jim Geary researched all the remaining players and posted about it on his blog. http://www.livejournal.com/users/walterzuey/

Not a household name either, but he obvo likes short-handed which may explain how well he's done today, and he's gone deep in the biggie before.

Esp w/the lead now ya gotta make him the favorite.

Default but was he this guy?

Hand 4 - Daniel Bergsdorf has the button in seat 5, and it's Lazar against another player for a raise. The flop comes Kc-8h-4d, and both players check. The turn card is the 3s, Lazar bets $300,000, and the other player folds

I took a look at the two 6handed event results. As good as Black did, Juanda did even better finishing 17th in both! Of course, I'd rather finish first in one & last in the other, but ya know what I mean.

Black getting all teary over Wang's dinner break mistake seemed a bit odd, but he's Irish, fair play n all, maybe.

Anyway, again, he's got to be the favorite right now, but of course the cards will tell.

Default \"What A Player!\"

Hand 21 - Andrew Black has the button in seat 2, Matusow raises to $220,000, Lazar calls, Hachem calls, Black calls, Barch calls, and Alsancak calls. There's no respect for Mike Matusow's raise, as six players see the flop on the ever-tightening TV bubble of the Championship Event at the World Series of Poker.

The flop comes Kh-Qd-9h, everyone checks to Black on the button, who bets $1,000,000. One by one, the other players fold, forfeiting the pot to Andrew Black. Andrew Black shows 10-8 offsuit as he collects the pot. The crowd hoots and hollers, and Tournament Director Johnny Grooms says, "There's a little bit of poker going on here, folks."

If this day went like all the others they would have been done by dinner time.

Still, I don't understand why they would chance this happening with a 3 PM start. Surely the start times had already been decided before the event even started... right?

It seems like a poor decision to me, but I'm hardly experienced with big MTTs.
