Misread, thought he meant that ND would be a 4 point favorite over anyone. Lots of ND homers who actually believe that.

99% of these homers aren't ND students or alumni. They are people who like notre dame because they are on TV and wear circa 1990 notre jackets and hats to show their support of the team.

Your memory of Willingham's first season is seriously off base. They had the good record, but barely won a bunch of games and it was widely accepted that the team was getting lucky. This year, they played a much tougher schedule, are decimating teams, and by all rights should have beat the #1 team in the country. The situations are nowhere near similar. They are night and day.

The teams they are 'decimating' this year aren't even that good. The last 4 games being cakewalks. Other than USC, who are these 'tough' teams that they've played this year?

This team might be better than the one in 2002, but you can't really judge a coach based on his first season. As it can also be argued that Willingham left Weiss a better team than Davies left Willingham. We'll see after a couple years how good Weiss is. Especially when he gets his own players.

Ohio St. is also known for barely winning games through the 2002-2003 seasons but were considered a very strong team.

And I still believe this team is "better" than that years. And for all of you who don't understand what that means, it means, if I had to bet on one when they played each other, I would choose this years team.
