Re: WSOP STARTS TONIGHT! Rio Circuit Event

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Why did daniel and TJ agree to do it? [/ QUOTE ] Because they didn't read the script? [/ QUOTE ] A script supposedly helped out by Eric Seidel, lol. If Seidel really had much of a say in this, he should be ashamed. [/ QUOTE ] What really bothers me is that everyone organizes their chips in stacks of 5 so that when they push all-in they use both hands to push their 12 inch long row of mini-stacks in the middle |

Re: WSOP STARTS TONIGHT! Rio Circuit Event
The part of the show I enjoyed was when they showed Mike Matusow with the Raymer classes on and he says "I love it, yeahhhh baaaabbby!" that was classic.

[ QUOTE ] Why does ESPN dedicate two hours to this event, yet only one hour to last year's main event final table? [/ QUOTE ] This is the transcript for the final table, there were 113 hands, [/ QUOTE ] I had forgotten about this hand: [ QUOTE ] Matthias Andersson eliminated in 8th by Greg Raymer. Hand #7, Harrington's button. Andersson moves all in from under the gun for $670,000, and Raymer calls. Andersson has Ad Ks, Raymer has As 10d. The board comes Qc 7c 9h Js 8s. The eight spikes on the river, giving Raymer a straight. Raymer immediately jumps up and yells, "DAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!". [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: WSOP STARTS TONIGHT! Rio Circuit Event
ESPN and Harrah's are trying to cash off on the WSOP by holding $10,000 NLH events in (I think) Vegas, Atlantic City, San Diego, New Orleans, and Lake Tahoe. Basically, it's a mini-WPT with the WSOP name slapped on.

Basically, it's a mini-WPT [/ QUOTE ] That's definitely not what Harrah's is intending. I'm sure they expect the tournaments to eventually be bigger than the WPT. However, the WPT very wisely have locked up certain casinos. I believe places like the Bellagio, Commerce, and Foxwoods can't hold TV tournaments which would be aired by anybody but the WPT. |
