I'm dangerously excited about a starting 5 of Salim, Childress, Smith, Williams and Generic-Big-Man.

[censored], that leaves Al Harrington out in the cold. Hmmm, maybe he can be trade bait and we can get a center worth something (read: not Kevin Willis)

Yeah, I've just been assuming they're trading Al Harrington.

Yeah, I'm not knocking Bynum. He's young and has a chance to develop, can't teach size, blah blah blah. Let's just say that my reactions were predicated on:

1) I really wanted Green, who has amazing potential, and would have been considered a steal even at 10.
2) There are so many busts out of the "big men with potential" category.
3) Cupcake has continually demonstrated he does not know what he's doing. No reason whatsoever to believe he can make a competent pick; his past history has been absolutely utterly horrible.

I now have to just hope that Bynum does indeed turn into something special in a couple years. I'm good with the Round 2 Turiaf pick. He's big, he's tough and he can rebound, all of which the Lakers really need.

Great pick by Raptors. Ukic is talented.

I think you should be glad he *didn't* pick the headcase. You need a C more anyways. Good fit, similar upside, better demeanor. I like it.

Yeah, good pick. I wish the Lakers had taken Ucic instead of this von Wafer guy. Or maybe Blatche or Taft.

Drafting based on position/need instead of best player available is a mistake in the lottery. History bears this out.

2nd round, even late first round, positional drafting is okay. Just not at the #10 pick.

Anyway, the jury is out for another 3+ years, so it'll be a long time before we can really evaluate what the correct play was.

2 best picks so far for value were 17 and 18

Indiana - Granger
Boston - Green

I cant believe these two fell so far. Granger is going to be great. Kind of disheartening to hear hes a jehovahs witness though.
