Re: Yanks/Sox game
Sheffield thought he was getting punched, most likely.
The guy reached down with a cupped fist right near Sheffield's face. |

Re: Yanks/Sox game
Gary didn't hit him. It looked like the fan slapped Gary. Sheff held back, I think he handled it well by any standard.
If Sheff had hit him he wouldn't be standing. |

[ QUOTE ]
Bullshit. [censored] piece of [censored] classless fans. That's embarassing for the Red Sox. [/ QUOTE ] Right, and Yankee fans wouldn't interfere with a ball in play? Gimme a break, I'm not a fan of either team, but don't take the high and mighty road pretending that this wouldn't happen in NY either. istewart summed it up well. That guy shouldn't have swiped at the ball, but Sheffield certainly shouldn't have overreacted the way he did. |

Re: Yanks/Sox game
The fan interfered. He should've been ejected, as he was, and it should've been a ground rule double. Gary should not have taken a swing at him.

Re: Yanks/Sox game
There's a difference between hitting a player and catching a ball.

No, he didn't go far the ball, he was interfering with Sheffield himself.
