I think Half-life is WAY too slow compared to Quake. [/ QUOTE ] A lot depends on the type of map you are playing, but for fast paced game play I think UT2003 was even better. The dodge moves added a lot to the game. Kind of like the HL jump pack, but in any direction. |

I don't really think speed is what makes the game.
HL wins (for me) because of all the other aspects it brought to FPS games. Hell, even Doom 3 tried to emulate Half-Life in certain spots.. Id recognized the value in many of Valve's ideas. Regardless, this is a debate that I'm sure has been done somewhere before. |

There are just way way too many games to list here, so let's go by Category:
Adventure: Monkey Island 1+2. RPG: Ultima 7 - no other RPG comes close Flight Combat: Wing Commander 1+2 RTS: Warcraft Simulation: Civilization. I also have to agree that this is the best PC game ever made. Sid Meier is a [censored] genius. Sports: 4D Boxing. This game PwNed!!! Racing: Need for Speed - or did that come after 1995? Lawrence |
