My fan base is now shrinking! lol.

I don't lay down [censored]! Obviously! You wouldn't believe this call I made in Vegas on Friday. I raise with A10 spades, guy on my left tanks and raises all in for about 1200. I think, think and think, and make a 5 minute speech of how bad this call is, it's donkey, it sucks, I shouldn't do it, yad, yada, yada. Flop is no ace, no 10, no str8 draw, a single spade. Then, hallelujah, runner, runner spades for the pot! Man did I piss off that guy!

So, yes, I don't lay down hands, one of my notorious weaknesses, but I'm working on it. Let's see how I do Wednesday.

Straddles are usually done to loosen up a game if the table's playing tight.

Bart, what do you think of Courtney Friel's debut Saturday night?

"What do you say Sgt? Seat 3 gonna make it? aha - yep that's what I thought. Sometimes you just know. Sometimes you can just look at a guy and think "no way he's gonna make it""

if I'm playin the rush I don't see the straddle as that bad of a play...also if there is a lot of money on the table, LIKE THIS GAME, with low blinds in re to stack size a straddle is not out of the question.

I also meant to ask about the buy-in, I know live NL games have strange rules, unlike the rigid online stakes.

The $200 min/max on 3/5NL seemes a bit too low, the one our club ran was 3/5 1000 max.

Can they buy up to what the chip leader has or something?

no they can't DW...that's why a lot of low/mid stakes NL games in LA suck.

No, that's why the max is at $200. It's pretty rare to have someone still sitting at a $200 table with over $3500.

That's like the old party poker

And I used to think live games had high buy-in maxes, all the games I've been to (not many) were 1/2 $300 max. I've only been playing for a year, it shows, but I thought the live games capped at like 200xBB
