Yeah,

I wish Michael Jordan would have stuck to the YMCA too. What a sellout.

Uhm...I am in Chicago and was a Bulls fan for the last threepeat (all rights reserved l.l.p Pat Riley INC ), but even I can say with Gatorade, Nike, Right Guard, McDonalds, Ball Park Franks, Chevrolet, his own perfumes and colognes, Mike definitiely sold out...but he definitely did so at HIS price. And in the end thats all that matters really.

Great post other than the rantings of Cola and Hack, which became incomprehensible...

Just to add my 2c .. I think BG's assessments are extremely accurate and seem to jive with what I have read here, on card player, and seen on TV. Granted I have no other basis, other than that my father had dinner with Chip Reese recently and he mentioned some similar opinions.

I was surprised that he seemed to insinuate Gus has some problems in the side games. I trust GB without a doubt but I do think that Gus annoys the old pro's more than many others. If this is the case Gus should stick to the tournaments and slightly lower side games until he is totally ready, id hate to hear he busted out.

I would love to see more of Chau Giang as he seems to be doing really well right now.

I also wish he had rated David Pham, since the man is leading the Card Player, player of hte year race. He might not have played with Pham enough, who knows?

On a final note there seems to be a lot of banter with who is best at tourny's, side games, and overall - to those people i say this... poker is about winning money, in my opinion money/hour. Therefore, the best poker player in the world is the guy who makes the most money for the time he spends playing, i feel like monetary winnings are the only clear gauge b/c we are talking about multiple games and formats that are impossible to compare side by side. So, I think Daniel Negreanu is a great great poker player, but I bet Phil Ivey and BG are actually better, b/c they simply make the most $$$/hour (from what I believe to be true)

Just my rambling thoughts, sorry heh

I am not dismissing Barry's skills, because I believe that he is a fantastic cash games and tournament player, but Barry was not one of the 10 invited to the TOC, yet Doyle was. One could make an argument that Barry should have been invited instead of, say, Annie Duke, but he wasn't. I can almost guarantee you that the first person the TOC organizers thought of inviting when they created this freeroll tourney idea was Doyle Brunson.

Its pretty clear you have no idea why each player was invited to the TOC

Also interesting is that BG rates Phil Ivey's steam control a '5'. That's interesting to note, since it always seems that PI is the ultimate in benig always calm and taking it one hand at a time. Maybe its his perfected game face that hides it all.

Looks like a "7" to me. Maybe he had a typo earlier.

I swear I had seen a '5'. Maybe I was confused. But I swear I had seen a 5.

I changed it. I make changes all the time as I see fit. Phil has better control than he did when I first critiqued him.

I also upgraded Daniel because of his stellar finish at the Bellagio WPT.
