I'll take your word for it. But the bar is set pretty low if the other option is Al Leiter.

Leiter has pitched okay at times.

The official white flag is hoisted any time Scott Proctor gets the ball.

how can you doubt the PROCTOLOGIST ?!?!?!?

am i the only person for whom yahoo sports and espn are not updating for? everything is stuck in the bottom of the 7th. the sox were down 6-5 in the top of the ninth with 2nd and 3rd no outs so i assume they lost.

A week ago I said the Sox had to go with kids in the bullpen, Paplebom, Hansen and Delcarmen. Well it's clear Francona was right about Hansen. The kid's not ready. He was so tight last night he had no velocity on his fast ball which he can usually top out at 97 so he was throwing nothing but cheesy breaking balls.

Paplebom looks the real deal though but he pitched in the afternoon and was unavailable. Delcarmen, who knows, he won't use him for some reason. But he can't be any worse than Harville.

Nothing to base this on but I think Cleveland already shot their load and won't be there at the end. It's going to be a fun weekend.

If the Indians win 3/4 (1 against TB, 3 against CWS) they're in regardless. 2 wins guarantees them a 1-game playoff. I think they have a great shot to make it.

Cleveland has two more against Tampa Bay, having already faced their only reliable starter. The Yankees and Boston face Toronto and Baltimore, having given up 7 and 17 runs in last night's games. Certainly the Indians are not an underdog to have at least a tie for the best record after Thursday night. They'll pummel McClung tonight.

Then the Yankees and Red Sox play each other and one of them will lose every night. While if there's anything this season has shown us it's that anything can happen, were I a betting man, and I was forced to take one of the three teams to make the playoffs, I'd take Cleveland over New York or Boston, even knowing that either New York or Boston must make the playoffs, while Cleveland has no such guarantee.

This weekend (especially in Boston and NY) is going to be [censored] nuts.

I'm an idiot. I thought most teams only had 4 games left. I thought the Sox were off Thursday.

The Belliard DP was one of the most heartbreaking Tribe ABs of the year.

1st and 2nd nobody out and Hafner up, I thought we had it in the bag. Then he grounds in a FC. I figured with one out and the tying run at 3rd we'd at least be looking at extras. *sigh*.

Huge loss.

Yeah I owe Belliard on that one. Maybe I'll send him a gift or something

so, the good news is that the sox game is on espn so i can watch the only two games that matter.

the bad news is that chris berman is commentating.
ASDOKJAOIWPJDAIOPJ WHHHYY PIWMNDIY

ugh he is horrible. i was sitting there hoping "cmon vernon get that runner from third in" and the i hear chris berman do his stupid "back back back" call, that almost took away all the fun from seeing the HR. almost.
