I'm suprised no one mentioned Indpls. We've been begging the colts to stay for 5 years and now we're ponying up the dough to build those guys a new stadium. Also, having gone to grad. school in Wisconsin, I was suprised that no one mentioned Green Bay.

I'm curious, did they install a courtroom in the new stadium, too? I thought it kicked ass that Veteran's had one. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think they did at the baseball stadium. If they did, they don't need it. The fans who show up now are pretty tame, with the exception of a few dumbass drunk 20-somethings who have nothing better to do than [censored] with opposing teams' fans. |

Man, there sure are a lot of crappy cities I would never live in that have major sports franchises. Every third post I think "Oh, right, forgot about that one, that place blows ass."
1. Buffalo. I did not see a specific mention of winter in Buffalo, but if it needed a tiebreaker, winter is it. 2. Sacramento. True, Oakland is a den of iniquity, but it is close to San Francisco, which has a couple things going for it. 3. Kansas City. I cannot stand Kansas City. |

I will grant you that. There is absolutely nothing good about winter in Buffalo. Fall is nice, our 5 minute Spring is nice...but Winter flat out sucks. That's about the ONLY thing I miss about the entire state of Florida.
Pros of Buffalo: 1.) Good food (Pizza, Chicken Wings, Italian, Greek, German, anything you want). 2.) Niagara Falls. 3.) Casinos. 4.) Sports fans. 5.) When you're growing up you can cross the river and go to Canada at 19 to get drunk and hit the strip clubs. 6.) Typically mild summers. 7.) Waterfront (although underdeveloped). 8.) The sheer volume of alcohol consumed. Cons of Buffalo: 1.) Winter 2.) Economy sucks 3.) There's about 17 hot women in the entire town. 4.) Downtown is ridiculously boring aside from HSBC Arena during hockey season. |

Yeah, it's cold during winter. Yesterday the heat index was over 100. The economy in the heart of the downtown area of Buffalo is mediocre, the outskirts do have a ton of factories that are no longer used. The majority of things to do in Buffalo are toward the north/suburbs. Downtown completely sucks. Aside from hockey games, I never go there. For the record, I've never met a single person that works in a factory in Buffalo in 25 years.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'd have never said this five years ago, but Portland. [/ QUOTE ] Portland, Oregon? Are you insane? [/ QUOTE ] No. Portland sucks now. [/ QUOTE ] Is that recent? I was last there in 2002 and I loved it as much as the first time I went there in 1999. |

I don't know, I don't like hippies so it seemed like a hellhole to me. YMMV. |
