99 HU for Australia Package~
Opponent in this hand had been fairly passive, playing his big hands hard, and letting others go. But had shifted gears once HU, and was signficantly more aggressive.
Here's the hand. Do you dial him up? Hands I think he could have. Any T. Ks or As plus a non-spade. So, call or fold? ***** Hand History for Game 3284275597 ***** 1000/2000 Tourney Texas Hold'em Game Table (NL) (Tournament 18721885) - Fri Dec 30 01:59:55 EST 2005 Table ($210/15) Aussie Satellite(553840) Table 1 (Real Money) -- Seat 10 is the button Total number of players : 2 Seat 8: bajawa (37364) Seat 10: MoovinOn (24636) MoovinOn posts small blind (500) bajawa posts big blind (1000) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to MoovinOn [ 9c, 9d ] MoovinOn raises (1500) to 2000 bajawa calls (1000) ** Dealing Flop ** : [ 7s, 3s, Tc ] bajawa bets (1100) MoovinOn raises (3400) to 3400 bajawa calls (2300) ** Dealing Turn ** : [ Js ] bajawa bets (31964) bajawa is all-In. |

Re: 99 HU for Australia Package~
As far as I am concerned, once he calls the flop raise and the worst card in the deck hits, this hand is over. It might be closer if you had the 9s, or it might not.
I would play it much much harder on the first two streets, though. Minraising 99 there makes me barf |

Re: 99 HU for Australia Package~
I think I let this one go. Way too many hands in his range that beat you. The turn push might not mean weakness or a draw, he could definitely have something like KT or QT without a spade.
Bottom line is I think I need to have a really good feel for villain's playing style to make the call. You still have plenty of chips to play on and I think you can put them to better use than making the call here. |

Re: 99 HU for Australia Package~
I have been fortunate enough to get heads up 4 or 5 times this month, and I can honestly say....i have no clue. Without having played the last x hands with the guy there is no way I could say, but I would have to have a great read on him to call here. I know for sure that I've won twice this month by making a good laydown and waiting for the hand where I had him cold.
I think by playing it slow early, you are hoping to flop huge and trap. That didn't happen so let it go and keep playing. |

Re: 99 HU for Australia Package~
Why such a small pre-flop raise? On the flop, there's 5100 in the pot after he bets and you raise to 3400. So he's getting 1.5 to 1 odds. I think he need to raise more there. I'm done on the turn. There's too many ways I'm behind and his push actually looks like an attempt to look like a steal, if you know what I mean.

Re: 99 HU for Australia Package~
Ugh. Satellites suck. Its 1:30, I have work at 8, and I can't go to sleep. Nothing worse than 1st being 12k, and 2nd being....$900. And I'm obsessive. Arr.

Re: 99 HU for Australia Package~
Based on limited info, I would have to let this go, though I guess it's really a read based spot.
If you fold you still have ~19k to play with (vs ~43), which isn't ideal, but I think your chances of doubling that up to the chip lead are probably better than your chances of being best here with the 9s. PS Checked the lobby, tough break on second place, I came in third in this once, it was a killer. |

Tough one Nick.
Think just playing the cards, I let this go here. Too much trouble out there. Getem next time. |
