Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900 [Included in Price] ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X300 64MB HyperMemory™ [add $50 or $1/month2] 128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY™ RADEON X300 PCI Express x16 Graphics [add $119 or $4/month2] Also, can someone comment on the EV of warranties etc.? [/ QUOTE ] Get bad video card + upgrade In my experience, warranties are +EV, but supposively ther are -EV or companies wouldn't push so ahrd for you to buy them. |

Re: Help me choose a laptop +NSFW
Those extended warrantees are definitely -EV, otherwise the store wouldn't offer them. Why would a retail outlet offer something where it expected to lose money? Dealer hits on 19... NOW we're talking.

[/ QUOTE ] It's fine, all the major labels are going to be good enough for basic use. I personally use Kaspersky, as I like the additional features it offers, but it might not be for everyone. Norton or McAfee should be good for the intermediate user. |

[/ QUOTE ] McAfee is decent, but I have one big beef with it. The auto-updates don't install unless you're logged on as an administrator. I use a non-administrator account for day-to-day use (which is good practice often keeps viruses and spyware from installing), but whenenver the ne definitions download, I get a popup and have to log in to an andmin account before they will actually install. They should run the auto-update un Local System or an Admin account so the automatic updates are really automatic without forcing you to compromise your security by running as an admin. |
