OK, you're right. I didn't offer any explanation as to why I would do what I say:
You catch a great flop. A good bet gets called. The turn is another good card. Good bet gets called. The river sucks. Your check was probably the right play. His action after that? He bets less than 1/4 of the pot. Here is my opinion of what he thought after that check: "Hmmm. He led both the flop and the turn and shut down after the fourth club came that also paired the board. I think [hero] is scared, and I'm going to take this down with my 2 pair without a club with a bet that he doesn't think that he can call." This guy has a king, and I really don't think that he has a club. I think it is a weak attempt to get the pot on a scare card - if he's trying to value bet, it's a pathetic try. I call here getting 5.5 to one. You're good enough times with this kind of one-hand read. |
