I read that article in the 2+2 magazine about taxes. Should I really be paranoid about that and start putting money aside for it?

I assume he was just quoting from The Big Lebowski and not really concerned with taxes.

You only pay higher taxes on the amount that you earn above the cutoff for the tax bracket. Its never going to lose you money...you just won't keep as much of the extra income.
