77 UTG with a raise from SB
SB is 54/19/1.5 after 42 hands
I know open limping is bad in general, this table had been pretty loose, typically 4-6 players to the flop and there was extra money in from the CO posting. The only 1 doing any real raising had been the SB. Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.50. Hero calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) checks, Button calls, SB raises, BB calls, Hero calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls. Re: 77 UTG with a raise from SB
Open limping isn't a bad thing when you're sitting at a table with 9 other people and are in early position with a mid-pair.
I don't think I'm raising that flop, but as you played it I would have checked that turn. Why raise if you don't take the free card when it's given to you? Especially since SB might have overcards that the K might have hit. KO |

I know open limping is bad in general [/ QUOTE ] Urrrgh, who ever said this? This ain't 6-max, an early pos limp w/ 77 is fine. That said I'm not sure what the flop raise was supposed to accomplish, and I'm rather sure that the turn was just spew. |

Re: 77 UTG with a raise from SB
Because hero probably has the best hand.
The fact that SB might have had overcards on the flop is a reason to bet not check the turn. |

[/ QUOTE ] I raised because I thought I may have the best hand against the SB who has raised 19% of his hands. My 7s might be best, I have a GSSD and BDFD even though it's incredibly weak. There are tons of overcards I'd like to see fold, I'd also like to get rid of high singleton spades. I wanted to thin the field as much as possible. |

Looks normal to me. [/ QUOTE ] The play on this hand isn't easy for me, the overcard on the flop and the overcard on the turn make me want to puke, I wanted to make sure this play is ok and I'm not overplaying my hand. |

I'd like this much better if we were heads up.
