Check My Line on this Flush Hand
This was a somewhat passive table, and prone to fold around to any PF raises, which is why I opened with KQs from where I did.

Re: Check My Line on this Flush Hand
First of all, you should be playing with a full buyin, no matter what.
I don't mind the pf raise with KQs in UTG+1, you shouldn't be raising pf w/ only AA, KK, and AK in this position. Flop action looks all right, you may want to consider a semibluff raise, as you have a 4flush and two overcards and decent position. Especially since you said the table is passive, you'd have a good chance getting them to fold to a semibluff. If not, oh well, you swelled the pot for better odds on later streets. Turn action is good. I'd say 3bet push the river. Probably made a straight before he made the A-high flush. |

You bet less on the river then on the turn, I'd probably just put him all-in, as it turned out, 3bet it And raising the flop would be good too. EDIT: I just realized your stack is smaller than his easy push on the river then, and rebuy next time. |

Re: Check My Line on this Flush Hand
I guess I should include an explaintion for my river play. I thought that he could potentially have held 86 and drawn at a straight on the flop, and then drawn out to two pair. A small bet ensures action from this hand. I also felt that if he happened to have a smaller flush, he'd play back, while a push could have maybe made him too worried about a bigger flush to call. Finally, I thought that maybe he'd made some sort of straight there (maybe 34). This was a pretty passive table with some pretty lousy players that sometimes folded everything and sometimes called with really marginal hands, especially in the blinds. I kinda thought that $4 was small enough that it would get called or played back at by worse hands. I think that at most tables, I would happily push the river, but this table told me a smaller river bet would yield better returns.
Edit: What do you put the villain on in this hand? |

Re: Check My Line on this Flush Hand
If you are gonna raise UTG+1 in full ring, make it more than 2xbb. If you dont wanna play with a full stack, thats your choice, but you really should. You lose a lot of value. Flop call is good, as I think you have about 14 or so outs there, since your overs are most likely good be we cant be sure, so I discount an out there. The turn bet looks right, but the river bet is fishy. Lead the turn for 6 and the river for 4....that to me screams flush and I aint payin. Poooosh the river with your remaining stack, or if you want to small bet here, 3 bet all in at least.
