Wrong Time, Wrong Place Mr. Ace of Hearts,
5/10 Party. The game is currently FRICKIN AWESOME. It's also just gone from 6 to 3 handed (which at face value is also awesome).
UTG/Button folds. SB raises and I call with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I thought about 3-betting, but decided that I wouldn't this time. This was my whim vs an unknown player. SB is new to the table, minded stats tell me that I have 10 hands on him and he's played 5. Party on the dance floor and such. Flop 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He bets, I raise, he calls. Turn 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He checks, I bet, he calls River A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He checks, I want to bet, but can't and check. |

Re: Wrong Time, Wrong Place Mr. Ace of Hearts,
it sure looks like he's calling you down after that flop raise. he calls the turn when the heart hits. looks like he has a pair or maybe ace high on the flop/turn also possibly a heart.
i think that it's an easy bet. people call down with all sorts of pairs in this spot that they won't bet with but they'll call. with the bet/fold line even the rare times you're bluffed out of the pot with a raise by a weird aggro guy (which he doesn't look like from the rest of the hand) i think the bet still proves to be very profitable. |

I want to bet, but can't [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't bet that river either. How often are you going to get a call from someone without a heart? |

Re: Wrong Time, Wrong Place Mr. Ace of Hearts,
Surprisingly often, depending on the player.

Re: Wrong Time, Wrong Place Mr. Ace of Hearts,
I agree with a lot of what's said here. The biggest reason I don't bet (or 3-bet preflop for that matter) is that against unknown players I am a lot more conservative and take lines that get me to cheaper showdowns.
If I know the player, there's a lot times I bet here, and I think this was close, but I guess I'm still ok with a check. |
