Post your guesses - how often to raise from the button?
Does anyone want to post some guesses to the question I posed in my article?
A) You are in a cash NLHE game with 3 players and everyone has 10BB in front of them. You are on the button and must push or fold. How often are you pushing? Give your answer either in terms of a range of hands or a % of all hands. B) Same situation except now everyone has 3BB. Tysen |

I'm prepared to be humbled:
A) 20-25% B) 33% Don't ask why - I didn't even understand the article to be honest. |

You should always push, in both the 10bb and 3bb games.
This will get you out quicker, so you can go play poker. Sabre170 |

Re: Post your guesses - how often to raise from the button?
This would be my answer, in real life, because most people won't play optimally but will fold much too often. However, after they see you push a couple of times, they'd no doubt loosen up.
A two person game should be about 65% for 10xBB, so what would that translate to 3 way? It looked like the article said 58% was too much. Let's try 50%. With 3xBB I'll guess 75%. |

Re: Post your guesses - how often to raise from the button?
With 10BB somewhere in the 25-40% range I would imagine. Obviously this could be close to 100% against the right opponents.
With 3BB if they don't adjust their calling ranges, I'm pushing pretty close to 100%. If I can steal 1.5BBs nearly 40% of the time thats a huge victory. Against real people, I'm probably pushing closer to 50%. |
