Villain is quite TAGy, Hero has had a hot run of cards and is raising a lot and probably looks like a maniac. I screwed this up but good...

I don't like the cap. Against a TAG, you are probably still behind a lot of her 3-betting range, even heads up. Without capping, I'm either checkcalling or checkraising the flop, depending on the weather. I'll probably checkraise if I feel I haven't done it a lot this session. You can get a little creative on the flop in these heads-up situations.
As played, fold the turn; you're facing a pocket pair or bigger ace. |

I dont like your play at all. Its almost automatic if you raise the BB they go in for the 3 bet with any two cards. I'd much rather put in the third bet against the tag if they raise you pf. If they just check, then it allows me to bet any flop and I take down most of the time.
I also think since you saw the flop and turn, I would of paid the river as you are good at least 25% of the time. |

don't cap preflop against this opponent. fold the turn. $100 it's a set.

[/ QUOTE ] I had a feeling this hand might look familiar to someone, given the stats. EDIT: Which was my big problem with the hand, actually. With a strong read that Villain is a thinking player who has me read as a LAG, the play Villain makes is possible with many different cards, not all of them better than mine. |

I actually don't mind the cap. I was just saying that BB doesn't 3-bet with any two.

[/ QUOTE ] that's why i think we shouldn't cap. i figured we're looking at probably 3 outs maybe a couple more, but i'd rather be able to c/r this type player than invest a lot preflop given is probably tighter hand range. |
