Royal Spelling Bee
The Kansas City Royals agreed Friday to one-year contracts with second baseman Mark Grudzielanek and first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz.
Undoubtedly, they'll be the first team in major league history with a first and second basemen both with twelve letters in their name, a "z" and a "k" among them for both. Cool! |

He's a damned fine second baseman with great defense. Eyechart blows, though. |

But a career avg of .330 obp and .390 slg without much power or without much speed doesn't really knock my socks off. |

Re: Royal Spelling Bee
Yes, but,
1) That's about an average line for a 2B over his career 2) He's played about half his games in Dodger stadium. |
