Re: MP with K9s and an M of 3.8
Personally I'm folding any no-paint, unpaired, unsuited 4-gapper and Q4, Q3, Q2, J4, J3, J2.
Anything else I'm pushing, but that's me... |

Easy push
[ QUOTE ]
equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 48.1724 % 46.08% 02.10% { K9s } Hand 2: 51.8276 % 49.73% 02.10% { 55+, A2s+, K5s+, Q7s+, J8s+, T8s+, 98s, A5o+, K8o+, Q8o+, J8o+, T9o } [/ QUOTE ] I think the calling range is too loose, especially for the larger stacks. A typical SB and BB are not risking 1/2-2/5ths of their stack with hands like T9o, J8o, and weak Aces. Short stacks are desperate but don't want to go out on the bubble. BB, who's in the best spot as far as pot odds, still takes quite a hit and would call without at least a decent holding. I'd say your average calling range is closer to: 77+,A8s+,KQs,ATo+,KQo, with BB being a bit looser, and everyone else a bit tighter. This lowers your equity to about 35%, but that's okay. Given this range you will win the pot uncontested often enough for a push here to be +EV. Notice too that if a short stack was before you and pushes you're getting the odds *to call* even knowing that they have this tighter range. |

I push because $20 doesn't mean jack [censored] to me and $1000 1st place would have me feeling high on life for a few days.
