You have the choice between playing 200/400 HU against an opponent that you are better than, but not by much, enough that you realize that you are better than him but no real glaring flaws, or 8 tabling 30/60 on party. Which do you usually pick? Mood dependant?

If variance is a concern, obviously 8-table.
Otherwise I think I'd do the HU for learning purposes. EV may or may not be slightly less, but I don't imagine someone who is at the level of 8-tabling is going to learn much from it. |

Obviously, if you are more confident of your winrate in one over the other, you'd always pick that one. But if your expected winrate is approximately equal, I'd play 200/400 HU every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The downside is that variance is obviously higher, but it is by far more interesting and entertaining. |

Almost always the 30/60 by far. HU is very stressful, especially at high stakes.
I don't know why you're wondering, really. |

It seems like finding a high stakes heads up game that is worth playing in is going to be extremely rare.
