Howard stopped being funny 2 years ago.
Hopefully the lack of censorship will make him funny, once more. |

Howard stopped being funny 2 years ago. Hopefully the lack of censorship will make him funny, once more. [/ QUOTE ] He got sacked where I live over a year ago but sometimes I get to Detroit or Chicago where I can hear him. He actually seems to have recovered quite nicely from when Jackie quit. When I first started listening to Stern in the early '90's I wasn't that nuts about him. I thought his TV appearances were funny but the show came off as a bunch of people screaming and yelling over each other (not unlike the unbearable Chicago based Mancow show). However, in the mid '90's he kinda mellowed and it seemed like the show peaked right before the movie. He then became over-exposed and the novelty wore off. Being smart and recognizing this, he quit doing interviews and stuff, ultimately getting the magic back. The guy keeps re-inventing himself. Like him or not, if one is to be intellectually honest, it is hard to consider him as anything less than genius. |

Howard stopped being funny 2 years ago. [/ QUOTE ] Most people who start listening to Stern and think he's funny end up thinking he's getting repetitive and less funny after a while. It doesn't matter when you started listening. |

[/ QUOTE ] The show of late has been stale but have been listening since senior year of high school...it's good entertainment and even a stale stern is better than 99% of the morning [censored] out there on terrestrial radio. Eitherway, I did purchase a sirius and ever since I got it working I am very satisfied. Music in my car, no commerc, and then I get to see if stern still has it come '06. |
