My First Carpal Tunnel post...
... and I can't stress enough how much this hurts. Couldn't sleep at all tonight.
The doctor said it will go away in a week or two and gave me a prescription of some kind of gel to ease the pain. So my advice is if you play alot of poker: Use your left arm to do other computer stuff occationally or take short breaks often, because having carpal tunnel syndrome really sucks. |

Re: My First Carpal Tunnel post...
Eww for a moment I thought you were talking about a different kind of tunnel.
I think I'm immune to Carpal Tunnel. Back in highschool I used to play Starcraft 20 hours a day... on a schoolday. |

Re: My First Carpal Tunnel post...
Did you get the cream or the gel. Ask Barry Bonds he knows which one works better.
Seriously though... From someone that gets tendonitus all the time in my wrists, make sure that you have a proper setup for your mouse. Try not to rest your hand on the table to use the mouse, but use the larger muscles in you arms to move the mouse while not resting your hand. Other than that you got good advise. |

Re: My First Carpal Tunnel post...
What gel is it. I play so much that my whole right side is paralyzed with arthritic symptoms. I have tried to use my left hand but found that it is not as lucky when it comes to poker as my right.

Re: My First Carpal Tunnel post...
The gel is called siduro but that's the swedish name so it probably doesnt make any sense to you.
One good thing about this is that I have to play 2 tables max (can't use my left arm better than that) so I can play some 3 handed on eurobet to get some blind steal practice or finally move up to 3/6 and work on my game. |

Re: My First Carpal Tunnel post...
You will get very comfortable with your left hand quickly. I started switching hands at lunchtime (since I primarly work on a computer all day) and it took about a week. Now I would say that my left hand mousing is about 90% as good as my right.

Re: My First Carpal Tunnel post...
I have a Logitech mouse with the ball on the top so I have no wrist movement. I have the same mouse at work and I type all day long and never have wrist problems. I go home and play hours of poker too.
I highly recommend a more friendly mouse if you have problems. At first I thought this was a joke but then I remembered that the type of mouse I have. |
